The LCROSS curriculum is the flagship for Lewis Learning curriculum development. This video will introduce you to the LCROSS mission, and show you how students are helping NASA get back to the moon.

Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS)

The LCROSS Shepherding Satellite, built by Northrop Grumman Space Technology, carries a NASA-built payload instrument suite, and will guide the Centaur upper stage of its Atlas V moon rocket toward a target crater on the moon. LCROSS will release the two-ton Centaur upper stage to impact in a permanently-shadowed crater near the moon's pole. The shepherding spacecraft will fly through the debris plume, and use that payload of sophisticated instruments to assess the presence of water-ice or vapor.

As part of the Lewis Learning LCROSS curriculum, we will explore the different natural forces and the technologies that make the LCROSS mission possible.

The Lewis Center for Educational Research is bringing it's award winning curriculum to classrooms across the world using the Lewis Learning online portal. Classroom based learning opportunities are delivered through a combination of online video and animated lessons with closely integrated real world activities. Lewis Learning has the ability to adapt on the fly to current events and news to provide science curriculum in real time.
